Pale copper color; raspberry, strawberry, roses, dried flowers on the nose; strawberry, raspberry, strawberry, cherry, melon, lemon-lime on the palate.
Brut with some sweetness hints; fresh, fun. Good acidity. Light body. Very fruit-forward. Blend of 75% nerello mascalese from Sicily, 25% glera grapes from the Veneto. Fermented four months in autoclave, standard Italian tank process. 11.5% ABV
Valdo is part of the Bolla Family of wines and is one of the leading makers in Valdobbiadene. Valdobbiadene is a leader in prosecco and sparkling wines in Italy. Valdo places emphasis on controlling the entire production process. They grow the grapes, harvest the grapes, control the vinification, bottling, and packaging. It was a regional maker in the beginning, but began expanding its market in the late 1950s. By 1960, it was sold throughout Italy. By 1990, it found distribution in Europe, the Far East, and then the Americas. Valdo USA was established in 2017 to serve its expanding market in the Americas.
