Dry; dense, dark, full in the mouth with chalky tannins and some balancing acidity. Medium-plus body. Needs time with air to settle down. Decanting suggested. The wine name celebrates the historical village of Nespoli, where the winery was founded in 1929. The winery continues to produce its wines in this location, from the vineyards to the glass. 14.5% ABV

The winery has deep roots in the Emilia-Romagna region of northern Italy. Bologna is the capital, Nespoli is some 60 miles to the southeast. The Ravaioli family founded the winery in 1929 as adjunct to a traditional trattoria opened by Attilio Ravaioli in 1920. Ravaioli ownership is now in the fourth generation. In 2010, in family entered into a partnership with the Mondodelvino Group which brought many innovations and state-of-the-art facilities. This effort vinified in stainless steel, then aged in French barrique and a touch of American oak to add the vanilla notes.
