Gold color; spice, tropical fruit on the nose; ripe white fruits, melon, citrus, honey on the palate.
Rich, refreshing, intense flavors, nice acidity, creamy mouthfeel, medium body.
Grapes come from the Prunea estate in the Sant’Ambrogio valley of Valpolicella Classico, acquired by the family in 1997. Le Rosse is one of the vineyards four main sub-plots and is planted entirely in pinot grigio. Vineyard rows are planted extremely close together and receive intense pruning, resulting in low yields and excellent richness. Wine is fermented entirely in stainless steel. This Valpolicella effort can be described as sitting between richer, more concentrated pinot grigio from Friuli to the north and racier styles from the Veneto at large. $15-18
